Sports blog: Hornets look to close out series at home

Story by Anthony Patterson, Staff Writer

The Charlotte Hornets trailed the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs 2 games to none and have won 3 straight seeking to close the series at home on Friday night.

After the first two games of the series both won in Miami by the Heat, the Hornets had to find it in them to pull out the franchise first playoff win in 14 seasons. That was accomplished on Saturday when the Hornets beat the Heat by a score of 96 to 80. Game 4 was back in Charlotte on Monday when the Hornets won yet another game to tie the series and send it back to Miami two games apiece. Lastly with help from the late game heroics of Courtney Lee, the Hornets took the series lead heading back to Charlotte tomorrow night for a possible series clinching Game 6.
