Soccer team secures fourth straight shutout
East Meck’s soccer team moved to 4-0 in the conference as they beat Garinger 2-1 Monday.
At the end of the first half, the Eagles led 2-0 on the strength of goals made by Corey Shea and Rin Nung, with an assist by Jacob Spence. During the second half Garinger scored a goal, but the defense held allowing East Meck to secure the victory.
The Eagles (7-2-2) dominated most of the game, with eight shots on goal compared to only four for Garinger.
East Mecklenburg next plays arch-rival Myers Park at home Oct. 4.
