Varsity Football cut from Playoffs
East Meck’s football team was eliminated by Lake Norman 45-24 in the first round of the NCHSAA state playoffs Nov. 18.
East was trailing Lake Norman in the first quarter 14-0. Lake Norman was pulling away in the second quarter 14-10. In the third and fourth East scored a touchdown in each but it wasn’t enough as Lake norman scored 7 in the third and 3 in the fourth.
Khalil Giliam passing 37 yards to Soulemaine Diaby scoring one touchdown. Christian Thomas scoring a 25 yard field goal and after that East scored a defensive touchdown and one more rushing touchdown. Lastly Running back Khamal Howard ran 30 attempts for 143 yards.
