Girls tennis takes win over Butler
The East Meck Lady Eagles tennis team edged the Butler Bulldogs at home Tuesday, Sept. 12, with a score of 5-4.
This was the girls’ first win in seven but came against one of East Meck’s arch-rivals, making their overall record 1-6.
Three girls contributed with their singles and two doubles teams helped push the win to reality. The final match was Upasana Lama and Amber Nee against Lia Park and Naya Boynton. The match was very close at the start, but the East Meck girls took the lead and won, 10-5.
Doubles, Zoe and Lucy Smithwick, won along with singles wins by Upasana Lama, Amber Nee, and Zoe Smithwick.
