Mens soccer loses to Ardrey Kell
East Meck Eagles suffered a difficult 9-2 loss in a non-conference varsity soccer match against the Ardrey Kell Knights.
The Eagles gained the early lead after Christian Etambalako scored in the second minute. The 1-0 lead was short-lived as Ardrey Kell’s Juan Ramirez tied up the game in the fifteenth minute and by the twenty-seventh minute had already recorded a hat trick to give the Knights a 3-1 lead.
The lead only continued to grow until Etambalako scored the Eagles’ second and final goal of the game. Throughout the game Ardrey Kell fired back time and again, taking a commanding victory against the Eagles, who were previously undefeated in the season.
“They brought lots of pressure that we couldn’t really handle,” East Meck’s soccer coach Timothy Long said.
The Eagles next play Tuesday night against Olympic.
