Why should you register?
Registering to vote is the first step in your civil duties. The United States is founded on the principles of democracy: individuals have the ability to self govern. By selecting your representatives through the voting process, the power is now in your hands once you are eligible to vote.
Do you Qualify?
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must live in the county where you’re registering to vote for at least 30 days prior to the date of the election
- Must be at least 18 years of age to vote and at least 16 years to register
- Cannot have a felony conviction
- Meet the 2022 deadline of October 14th
How can you register?
- Local DMV: registration is available online or in-person 25 days before election date
- Mail: Printable voter registration forms can be printed and mailed to your local election office, but must be mailed at least 20 days before election date
- The polls: in-person registration is available at the location of voting(polls)
