The Eagle is the East Mecklenburg High School student newspaper in Charlotte, North Carolina.  It is governed by the First Amendment rights guaranteeing freedom of the press and the guidelines established by the Supreme Court, which interprets those rights for school publications. Editorials represent the writers’ opinions; however, they do not necessarily reflect the view of the school administration. The Eagle is committed to upholding journalistic integrity and promoting open discourse within the school community. Our publication encompasses various volumes, each representing a distinct edition rather than a specific year.

In addition to our dedication to providing in-depth coverage of school news, student life, and local events, The Eagle takes pride in its affiliations with esteemed organizations such as the Southern Interscholastic Press Association, the North Carolina Scholastic Media Association, and Quill and Scroll.
