The Novice Niche: Introduction

A blog that will explore new experiences.

There’s a certain amount of responsibility that comes with the fear in trying something new. Expanding your horizons, and daring to be bold. Not everyone has the courage to try something insanely intense and possibly devastating. Some people prefer to live in the comfort levels that a curated schedule provides. But not me. I am infatuated with trying new things. New music, random jobs, public-speaking, sporting events and sometimes even new food. I often find myself regulating random, I try to envelope the responsibility of random as well. I like to push myself to step out of my comfort zone no matter what anyone says.

So I thought to start off the blog I would dive into one of the most fun adventures that I’ve ever had.

In May of 2016, I stepped out of my comfort zone and I spoke for the first ever Tedx event at my school. Watching other people share their opinions, ideas and talents was inspiring. And sharing my own talent was stimulating yet scary.

Public speaking is a fear I’m sure almost everyone can relate to. My fear of public speaking has probably grown over the past couple of years. When I was younger I definitely didn’t have the weight of others opinions of me holding me down. I just spoke, but as we grow we all gain a filter and a vocabulary that is conscious of other people.

At this Tedx event, I lost complete composure and shared my emotions with an audience full of people through a poem. And there was a video recorded and will now be commemorated online forever. Thanks YouTube!

As the next Tedx event rolls around this year, I can’t help but be excited to be inspired again by all the new talent.
