Lady Eagles end season in tough playoff loss

Story by Jacob Phillips, Online Editor

The East Meck volleyball team lost to Porter Ridge 3-0 Oct. 21 in the 1st round of the conference tournament. The Lady Eagles finished their season in a tough matchup that saw them play the 3rd best team in the conference.

Coming into the last game of the regular season the Eagles were in a position to move up in the standings and give themselves an easier matchup. Unfortunately, they were unable to come up with the victory leaving them tied in the standings with Independence.  To break the tie and determine playoff seeding a coin was flipped and independence won the toss and chose to play Butler leaving the Lady Eagles to play Porter Ridge.

It was an up and down season for East that ended with a record of 6-12 overall and 5-9 in the conference. They will head into the off-season looking to work to be better for next season.
