Football loses in blowout against Myers Park

Story by Jacob Phillips, Online Editor

The East Meck football team lost to Myers Park Oct 25. 41-0. The Eagles entered the game looking to upset the undefeated Myers Park team and gain some momentum to finish off their season strong. Unfortunately, the Eagles were unable to do this and failed to stop the Mustangs on both sides of the ball. The Mustang’s ability to create holes for their running backs was key in their victory. In the passing game, the Eagles put up a hard fight forcing the Myers Park quarterback to pass on the run from outside the pocket. The Eagles just couldn’t get it done on offense and struggled to gain any yardage.

The Eagles continue to struggle and fall to 1-8 on the year and 0-5 in the conference. With two games left this season, the Eagles need to work hard if they want to pull off another win. Their next opportunity will come Nov.1 when they Travel to Hickory Ridge.
