Lady Eagles lose in tough match up against Providence

Story by Jacob Phillips, Online Editor

The East Meck girls varsity basketball team lost to Providence in their season opener Nov. 19 66-31. This was a game where the Lady Eagles were heavily outmatched. Providence finished 20-6 last year, and 10-2 in their conference tied for first place, with all but four of those players returning they are predicted to be just as good.

The Lady Eagles came out strong in the game, even taking an early lead. Later though Providence came back and took the momentum and never looked back.

It was a good effort for the Lady Eagles, but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. They will look to work and prepare for the next game Nov. 21 when they travel to Ardrey Kell.
