Basketball comes up just short

Story by Jacob Phillips, Online Editor

The East Meck men’s varsity basketball team lost to JM Robinson 66-63 Dec. 11. This was the closest game the Eagles have played all year. They came out the game sloppy turning the ball over 10 times and going 0/4 on free throws. In the third the Eagles quarter the Eagles came out got scoring 26 points, building up a 10 point lead and didn’t turn the ball over once.

Unfortunately, I’m the fourth the Eagles fell apart and in the last three minutes turned the ball over six times. They lost the lead and ended up down as many as five. A late rally came up short as they were unable to connect on the game tying three as time expired.

The Eagles will next take on Porter Ridge Dec 13.
