Basketball starts hot but fails to finish against Rocky River

The East Meck varsity basketball team lost in a conference away game against Rocky River Jan. 7 56-62. It was a close hard-fought game for the Eagles that wasn’t decided until the game’s final plays. 

They went into the half with an eight-point lead holding rocky to 20 points by forcing six turnovers. In the 3rd quarter though Rocky was able to hit shots from three and scored 19 points and cut the Eagles lead down to one.  

Once the Eagles went down late in the fourth it became a game of free throws. Rocky was able to convert from the line shooting 9/11.

The Eagles will next host Myers Park Jan. 10.
