East Meck wins big against POB

East Meck’s football team shut out Phillip O. Berry 21-0 Friday, Sept. 6. This is the Eagles’ first win of the season after losing a close game to Providence in the season opener, and then again in a blow out game against Ardrey Kell.

The Eagles made a change in the depth chart by promoting senior Trey Truit to the starting QB position. The Eagles found success with this change,  gaining 193 yards with 154 coming from the passing game. On the defensive side, the Eagles held Berry to just 107 total yards and only 10 rushing yards, while forcing 3 turnovers.

“Winning was awesome,” head coach Robert Forshee said. “Everyone in the city had us going 0-11 and last in the conference. It was good to feel a win” .

The Eagles have improved to 1-2 on the season while Berry falls to 1-1. The Eagles will next host Olympic on Friday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.
