Culinary team wins perfect score, headed for Nationals

The East Meck culinary team won gold last Friday at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) competition hosted at Johnson & Wales University.

Culinary teammates Blair Riggbsee and Jensine Crowder won the competition with a perfect 100 score. The team was judged on sanitation, organization, communication, and plating, and scored perfectly in every category.

With this big win, East Meck qualified for the National Competition, which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee in July. Riggsbee and Crowder will not only be representing East Meck, but the entire state of North Carolina.
