What do you wish you could tell your junior self? Don’t cry about getting a B for a quarter grade. Final grades matter.

What do you wish you could tell your junior self? Stay patient. If you give off positivity, that’s what you’ll receive. Negative thoughts lead to negative actions and crying never changes the outcome. KEEP GRINDING!
What events in your past helped you decide on this path? Joining The Eagle staff has exposed me to different outlets of media that I hope to one day be a part of because of the leadership here at East.

Lindsey Flores

What do you wish you could tell your junior self? Look into scholarships sooner.
What events in your past helped you decide on this path? Being first generation Mexican-American and a member of the LGBT community. I didn’t see a lot of [people like me] in the STEM community.

What do you wish you could tell your junior self? Don’t stress too much. Things will happen if they’re supposed to.
What events in your past helped you decide on this path? UNCG felt right for me. I still want to pursue journalism, but I also want to make movies. One of my inspirations is Childish Gambino.

What events in your past helped you decide on this path? My travel abroad with my mom’s camera. I fell in love with photography.

What events do you wish you could tell your junior self? Stop caring so much about what other people think. You are about to enter the rest of your life. Don’t let your last few years in North Carolina’s Public Education System be so stressful. Be content with your successes but continue to try and better yourself every day.
What events in your past helped you decide on this path? My parents and my friends have supported me through all of my past endeavors and this has allowed me to pursue higher education. I am forever grateful to those who have helped me, especially my friends on The Eagle.

What events do you wish you could tell your junior self? Don’t wait to write your college essays. Make sure you know who to trust. Learn to hype yourself up, especially in essays and resumes because colleges need to know how great you are. Practice what you love, grow with your art, be proud of what you’ve accomplished, because you are, and always will be, a stone cold queen.
